One of the simplest and most direct ways to support our mission is through a yearly one-time gift. You can choose to donate at a suggested level or contribute an amount that is meaningful to you. We accept donations via cash, credit card, check, PayPal or Venmo. Your consistent support ensures the trails you love are always ready for a your next outdoor adventure.
Suggested seasonal Donation Levels:
- $25 Day Use
- $50 Student
- $75 INDIVIDUAL
- $150 FAMILY
- $300 BUSINESS
We welcome donations that go beyond the tiered amounts.
Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)
If you are 70 ½ or older, you can make a tax-free gift to Black Mountain Nordic from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA). This gift, known as a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), counts toward satisfying your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), and this distribution is excluded from the taxpayer’s income, resulting a lower overall tax liability. The distribution must be made payable directly to Black Mountain Nordic. The QCD is an easy and powerful way to meet your RMD requirements while supporting our work without adding to your taxable income.
Appreciated Securities
When you donate appreciated securities directly to Black Mountain Nordic, the organization gains the full proceeds from the sale, and you potentially eliminate capital gains exposure. This win-win would mean more money going directly to the organization and the winter sports enthusiasts it serves.
Donor Advised Fund (DAF)
A Donor Advised Fund is a popular and flexible way to manage your charitable giving. It functions as a centralized account for your philanthropic efforts, allowing you to make a charitable contribution to the DAF, receive an immediate tax deduction, and then recommend grants to Black Mountain Nordic over time. It’s an excellent way to consolidate your giving and support our work easily and effectively.
Vehicles, Equipment, Real estate
Black Mountain Nordic can also benefit from your generous donation of a vehicle or equipment. We could use everything from a snow machine to an ATV, UTV, or other heavy equipment. Donating your old vehicle or equipment can provide a direct, tangible benefit to our operations. Additionally, you may be able to make a tax-deductible claim on your donated item. Black Mountain Nordic can also benefit from your generous donation of a WORKING vehicle or equipment.
Leaving a gift of real estate helps us continue our work for years to come. You can give an outright gift, name Black Mountain Nordic in your will or living trust, or create a retained life estate.
Leaving a Legacy
You can plan now to make a lasting impact on our community’s trails. By naming Black Mountain Nordic in your will or estate you are creating a bequest that will ensure the continued maintenance and grooming of our beloved trails for future generations of winter sport enthusiasts. A planned gift is a powerful way to make a difference and secure the future of non-motorized winter recreation for our local community.
Outright Gift of Life Insurance
This gift is as simple as updating your beneficiary designation form with the policy holder. You can designate us as the primary beneficiary for a percentage or specific amount. You can also make us the contingent beneficiary so that we will receive the balance of your policy only if your primary beneficiary doesn’t survive you. You can make an outright gift of an existing policy or new policy, if you itemize on your taxes you may qualify for federal income tax charitable deductions with policy premiums.
Beneficiary Designations
Not everyone wants to commit to making a gift in their wills or estates. Some prefer the increased flexibility that a beneficiary designation provides by using IRAs and retirement plans, donor advised funds, annuities and other investment accounts. It is simple to name Black Mountain Nordic by requesting a change of beneficiary form from your financial professional.
