Peter Mohseni Photo

Peter Mohseni – Treasurer

Pete is retired from a long career in public education. Pete loves the great outdoors and probably hikes more miles at Sibley Lake and Cutler Hill in the summer months than anyone else. Pete has been skiing since the 1960s and has been a board member for Black Mountain Nordic since 2009.

Peter Haile Photo

Peter Haile – Secretary

Peter moved to Sheridan with his wife and son in the summer of 2022 from North Carolina where he taught high school math. He now operates Yellowstone Track Systems, where they make grooming implements for nordic skiing and ship them all over the world. His primary recreation outlet is cycling of all kinds, although he is looking forward to skiing more as his boys get old enough to join him. Peter has been a member of Black Mountain Nordic since 2024.

Tracy Hed Photo

Tracy Hed – Director

Tracy has a Ph.D. in counseling psychology and has spent most of her career as a school psychologist. She recently retired from Sheridan County School District 2, and now spends most of her days hiking or skiing in the Bighorn Mountains with her dog, Matilda. She grew up with a love for the great outdoors in Minnesota and has transferred that love to Wyoming, where she has lived since 2007. Tracy has been a board member since 2023.

Bill Bensel Photo

Bill Bensel – Director

Bill has been skiing both backcountry and groomed trails for over 50 years. He has worked in natural resources, agriculture, non-profit fundraising, community organizing and served four terms in the Wyoming State Legislature. Bill and his wife, Kris, live outside of Ranchester and have a passion for trails, public lands and the great outdoors. Bill has been on the BMN Board since 2023.

Shannon Pederson Photo

Shannon Pederson – DIRECTOR

Shannon is a retired kindergarten teacher and has called Wyoming her home for the last 23 years. Shannon grew up in Minnesota where she fostered the love of both nordic and downhill skiing from a very young age. Now she has plenty of time to enjoy the great outdoors and travel with her husband. Shannon has been a board member for Black Mountain Nordic since 2024.

Heidi Eckland Photo

Heidi Zajic-Eckland – DIRECTOR

Heidi grew up cross-country skiing on the Nebraska grasslands (when the snow didn’t blow away). She has lived in Sheridan for over 6 years and now calls the Bighorns her home. Heidi works as a Financial Advisor at D.A. Davidson. When she isn’t enjoying the mountains, Heidi and her husband, Justin, are chasing around their daughter, Hadley, who is active in cross country and track. Heidi joined Black Mountain Nordic board in fall of 2025.

Kameron Condos – DIRECTOR

He grew up in Sheridan and left for college right out of high school. Twenty years later, and after many adventures, he returned to Sheridan to be close to family and the Bighorn Mountains. Kameron has worked at Sheridan Memorial Hospital for the last 17 years, as a Radiologic Technologist. He enjoys cycling of all kinds, including winter fat biking. He also loves telemark skiing, mountaineering, camping, and disappearing into the Bighorns during all seasons. Kameron joined Black Mountain Nordic’s board in fall of 2025.

PREVIOUS/current BOARD MEMBERS

We want to recognize the efforts of previous board members and their service to the winter recreation community. Without them, we could not have built what the Black Mountain Nordic organization is today.
